Many a time when I tell someone I help authors sell books, they look at me funny and ask…
“Are people still reading books?”
“Is there even a future for the author profession?”
So, here’s my take on that… relax, make some tea and listen carefully:
I think that we are on the brink of a major economic change that will dramatically impact the concept of ‘work’…
With the current rate of technological innovation, a lot of jobs are simply going to disappear:
– Self-driving cars will make drivers obsolete
– Food production automation will replace farmers, bakers and a host of other professions
– Teaching technology will make teachers obsolete – Right now there’s an application called Duolingo that is a better language teacher than any live teacher I’ve met
And the list goes on.
I truly believe that within 10-15 years at least 50% of jobs will just disappear.
And once the turmoil dies down, we’ll end up with a lot of people spending a lot less time at work and having a lot more leisure time.
And those people will consume A LOT MORE entertainment.
So everybody that’s working in a creative field, such as
– Movie producers
– And of course … Authors
Will experience a surge in demand (and competition)!
These are very good news for you, but only if you put in the time and effort NOW to establish yourself as an author.
One way to do this is to join the Author Marketing Fast Track Insiders Club…
It’s not cheap.
But it will prepare you for the spike in demand (and competition) that will occur when the job landscape shifts.
